Policy Critique
Download the assignment brief (PDF).
Write a 2,000-word evaluation of a body of research centred on 3–4 core papers or reports estimating the causal effects of a policy. Choose your own question and studies, subject to approval. The brief includes the marking criteria and AI declaration requirements.
Proposal: Email a short paragraph explaining your policy question, with full references and links for your proposed studies, by Monday, 26 October, 12 noon. Use the subject line PP5001 Policy Critique proposal.
Final submission: Submit on Moodle by Friday, 13 November, 12 noon.
Evaluation Game
The Evaluation Game takes place on Friday, 27 November, from 9 am to 5 pm, followed by a discussion from 5:15 to 6:15 pm.
Weekly exercises
The Week 2 practice is Problem Set 1, an assessed assignment. Problem Set 1: instructions and Quarto answer template. Submit both the Quarto source and rendered PDF through Moodle.
The Week 5 practice is Problem Set 2, due in Week 7. Problem Set 2: instructions and Quarto notebook. Submit both the Quarto source and rendered PDF through Moodle.
Other after-class exercises are ungraded unless stated otherwise.
